The foundations of the scientific and clinical school of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Otorhinolaryngology were laid in 1935 by the decision and the corresponding resolution of the Council of People's Commissars on the establishment of the Central Research Institute of Otorhinolaryngology, as a state institution on the basis of the ENT Clinic 1 of the Moscow Medical Institute (currently the Moscow Medical Academy named after I.M. Sechenov). Today MNPTSO named after L.I. Sverzhevsky is the leading integrating institution of the capital in the provision of specialized otorhinolaryngological care. The center employs 4 professors, 10 doctors and 31 candidates of medical sciences. Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Otorhinolaryngology named after V.I. L.I. Sverzhevsky has its own clinical building, donated to Muscovites by the Government and the Department of Health of the city, and the Center's employees also work at the clinical bases of the City Clinical Hospital named after. S. P. Botkin and Children's Clinical Hospital No. 9 im. G.N. Speransky.

The clinical building of the Center, donated to Muscovites by the Government of the City in 2009, is a unique medical complex that meets all international standards for providing outpatient and inpatient care to patients suffering from ENT diseases. In terms of its technical equipment, the staff of specialists and the range of services provided, the Clinic of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Otorhinolaryngology is the only highly specialized medical institution in Russia and the CIS that allows solving complex problems of treating ear, nose and throat ailments at the modern level.

In the clinical building of the MNPCO there are:

A hospital with a capacity of 60 beds - an otorhinolaryngological department with day hospital wards;

Anesthesia service with wards for post-anesthesia awakening and intensive care.
